- Question from TeamViewer Community

When a computer is locked, you are unable to connect to it. Therefore, you’d better set TeamViewer don't lock on disconnect just in case you need to reaccess the same computer.

How to set TeamViewer don’t lock on disconnect

We'll introduce how to stop TeamViewer from locking remote computers when the connection ends on Windows and Mac.

Part 1. TeamViewer disable auto lock on disconnect on Windows

Let’s see how to set TeamViewer disable auto lock on disconnect on Windows. Go to Options in the upper right corner. Click Advanced on the left and scroll to Advanced settings for connections to other computers. From the drop-down menu of Lock remote computer, choose Never.

What do Always, Never, and Automatic mean, respectively?

  • Always: Will always lock any remote computer after completing a TeamViewer remote control session, regardless of whether the computer was locked or unlocked at the start of the session.
  • Never: Will never lock the remote computer after completing a TeamViewer remote control session, whether it was locked or unlocked at the start of the session.
  • Automatic:

If the remote computer was locked at the start of the session, TeamViewer will lock it after the session is finished.

If the remote computer was unlocked at the start of the session, TeamViewer will not lock it after the session is finished.

Part 2. TeamViewer disable auto lock on disconnect on Mac

Let’s see how to set TeamViewer disable auto lock on disconnect on Mac. The steps to disable auto lock on Mac differ from those on Windows. If you follow the same steps above, you won’t find the Lock remote computer option.

On Mac, you’ll need to configure it during the remote sessions. During the remote sessions, go to Actions > Lock Computer > then un-tick Lock on session end.
