Setting up unattended access on a distant computer allows you to connect to it even when no one is there, allowing you to provide unattended technical support anytime. Then, how can you set up GoToAssist unattended access?
GoToAssist is now called GoTo Resolve. It is easy to set up GoTo Resolve unattended access. For security concerns, unattended access cannot be set up without permission from the remote side. While setting up unattended access, you must ensure someone sits before the remote computer.
You can set up GoToAssist unattended access on a Windows or Mac in three ways.
This method requires the user to be physically present at the remote computer during setup.
Step 1. Begin a support session and invite the customer.
Step 2. Click Unattended Support > Set Up Unattended Support in the Viewer toolbar.
Step 3. On the Authenticate screen in the Viewer, enter your GoToAssist account password when required and click Next.
Step 4. You will now see a message, "Requesting Unattended Support Access..." within the Viewer.
Step 5. The following window will show in the remote computer, and the user needs to enter the Windows credentials, then click Allow Unattended Support.
This way enables you to set up unattended access on machines in your network rapidly.
Step 1. Log in at http://up.gotoassist.com.
Step 2. Select the correct device group.
Step 3. In the Unattended Installer pane, click Download.
Step 4. The name of the device group will be displayed under Device Group. Select your selected device group from the drop-down menu. Select one of the unattended support installers listed below:
Step 5. After downloading your unattended installer, launch it on the remote computer to enable unattended access.
Step 6. Once installed successfully, it will appear in the system tray (Windows) or Application menu (Mac).
This method uses the Fast Support portal to set up GoToAssist remote support unattended access.
Step 1. Go to https://fastsupport.gotoassist.com/unattended.
Step 2. Click Set Up Unattended Support. Download, open, and run the application.
Step 3. On the Sign in window, enter your account email address and password.
Step 4. You can provide your Windows credentials or uncheck the "Enter Windows password (recommended)" box. Allow unattended support by clicking the Allow Unattended Support button.
Step 5. Please give the computer a name that will appear on the list of unattended support computers, then choose the device group to which it should belong, and then click OK.
Step 6. Once installed successfully, it will appear in the system tray (Windows) or Application menu (Mac).
